Addlestone
Addlestone is located between Weybridge and Chertsey in north Surrey.
The town centre is around Station Road, with a small number of shops on the High Street also. There is a Tesco supermarket in the centre of the town, and Tesco and Marks and Spencer stores at Brooklands (around 2 miles / 3km south of the town).
The River Wey Navigation provides Addlestone with a canal link to Guildford and to the Thames at Weybridge. The construction of the canal resulted in the construction of flour mills (since converted into apartments) at Coxes Lock (see photographs and aerial photographs), with the mill pond and canal having been used to provide power and transport access to the mills.
Junction 11 of the M25 motorway is easily accessible from the town. Addlestone railway station is on the branch line from Weybridge to London Waterloo via Virginia Water; travelling south and changing at Weybridge usually results in a shorter journey time to London.
